Livecoded modular synth performance using Orca and Iannix demonstrating the push pull nature on spacetime of a gravitational wave
April’s Master Class in livecoding for gravity synth was cool.
Using the mathematical wave model (Bayesian inference) of the first LIGO detection, I created a graphic score and demonstrated the push/pull nature of gravitational waves on spacetime. The wave also affects aspects of the sound. Three distinct sections are here and the score switches sounds accordingly. The before and after portions being also analogous to the long wait if gone before the detector was built and the period of reflection after. Added to this I superimposed an image of the modular synth (the sound generator) which fades across to the livecode glyphs of the orca software by hundred rabbits, which is triggering all the music you hear.
